Be not of this world

Matthew 4:8-10
8 Again, the devil taketh him up into an exceeding high mountain, and sheweth him all the kingdoms of the world, and the glory of them; 9 And saith unto him, All these things will I give thee, if thou wilt fall down and worship me. 10 Then saith Jesus unto him, Get thee hence, Satan: for it is written, Thou shalt worship the Lord thy God, and him only shalt thou serve.

2 Corinthians 4:4
In whom the god of this world hath blinded the minds of them which believe not, lest the light of the glorious gospel of Christ, who is the image of God, should shine unto them.

Satan is the god of this world… Now, in the verse above we see that satan was going to give the kingdoms of this world (countries in today’s usage) to Jesus if he would worship him… How could satan even offer this if the kingdoms of the world were under our King Jesus already? It’s because they weren’t and it’s the same today as it was back then.

Revelation 11:15
And the seventh angel sounded; and there were great voices in heaven, saying, The kingdoms of this world are become the kingdoms of our Lord, and of his Christ; and he shall reign for ever and ever.

We see by the verse above that at the seventh trumpet the kingdoms of this world will finally be the kingdoms of the LORD. It’s pretty self-explanatory, but the kingdoms (countries) of today are not the kingdoms (countries) of our LORD. When you look at the world from a Biblical perspective you see why… Our Countries are far worse than Sodom and Gomorrah and voting etc. won’t change anything. Our King is Jesus and we need to not be of this world.

We are not to be of the world… There are a plethora of verses that talk about it.

James 4:4 Ye adulterers and adulteresses, know ye not that the friendship of the world is enmity with God? whosoever therefore will be a friend of the world is the enemy of God.

1 John 2:16 For all that is in the world, the lust of the flesh, and the lust of the eyes, and the pride of life, is not of the Father, but is of the world.

1 John 2:15-17 Love not the world, neither the things that are in the world. If any man love the world, the love of the Father is not in him. 16 For all that is in the world, the lust of the flesh, and the lust of the eyes, and the pride of life, is not of the Father, but is of the world. 17 And the world passeth away, and the lust thereof: but he that doeth the will of God abideth for ever.

John 15:19 If ye were of the world, the world would love his own: but because ye are not of the world, but I have chosen you out of the world, therefore the world hateth you.

In the end, our King is Jesus not leaders that are voted in etc. Be not of the world…
